Adaptation
Fox Robinson work in close partnership with Personal Care Consultants, a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals who can underpin accommodation and design issues with their professional expertise. In particular, occupational therapists are available to undertake specific assessment of function, mobility and manual handling risk assessment as they impact on the design aspects of accommodation, adaptations to properties and the use of specialist equipment for people with disability.
Commissioned by many Local Authorities and Primary Care Trusts throughout England and Wales to undertake occupational therapy assessment, risk assessment, rehabilitation and training, Personal Care Consultants’ healthcare professionals are fully competent within the domains of physical disability, learning disability, sensory impairment, acquired brain injury and mental health. This special working relationship makes it possible to facilitate the provision of adaptations to the home in private, social care and public sectors and can assist with the challenges presented by funding streams such as the Disabled Facilities Grant. The move towards Personalisation, and governmental guidance to give more control to individuals by the allocation of Personalised Budgets and Direct Payments, makes the partnership between Fox Robinson and Personal Care Consultants unique.
